Welcome to iSellTZ.

iSellTZ is an online marketplace that enables individuals, landlords, property agents, vehicle dealers, retailers, businesses, and other authorised users to advertise and discover products, vehicles, rental properties, real estate, and related marketplace opportunities.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “iSellTZ,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to Genie for the new world, of Dar es salaam .

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal data when you:

Visit or use the iSellTZ website, progressive web application, or related services;
Create or manage an account;
Sign in using Google;
Publish or respond to a listing;
Apply for account or business verification;
Communicate with another user or with iSellTZ; or
Otherwise interact with the Platform.

We process personal data in accordance with applicable laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, including the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, its regulations, and other applicable legal requirements.

3. Personal Data We Collect

The personal data we collect depends on how you use iSellTZ.

3.1 Account and profile information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect:

Account type or marketplace role;
Business, agency, dealership, landlord, retailer, or professional information;
Account status and verification status;
Login and account-security information; and
Any additional profile information you voluntarily provide.

3.2 Information received through Google Sign-In

When you choose “Continue with Google” or otherwise use Google Sign-In, we may receive the following information from Google, depending on the permissions shown to you:

Your name;
Your email address;
Your Google profile image;
A unique Google account identifier; and
Information needed to confirm that your Google account has been authenticated.

We use this information only to create, identify, secure, and manage your iSellTZ account and to provide the services you request.

iSellTZ does not receive or store your Google password.

Unless a separate feature clearly asks for additional permission and you expressly approve it, iSellTZ does not access your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google contacts, Google Calendar, photographs stored in Google services, or other private Google account content.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.

You may disconnect iSellTZ from your Google account through your Google account permissions. Disconnecting Google access does not necessarily delete information already stored in your iSellTZ account. To delete that information, you must also request deletion of your iSellTZ account.

3.3 Listing information

When you create a listing, we may collect and publish information such as:

Listing title and description;
Price or expected price;
Product, property, vehicle, or service category;
Photographs, videos, or other uploaded media;
General or precise listing location;
Property characteristics;
Vehicle characteristics;
Business or product details;
Ownership, authorisation, or verification information;
Contact details selected for publication; and
Any other information included in the listing.

Information included in a public listing may be viewed, copied, shared, indexed, or stored by other users, search engines, and third parties. You should not publish sensitive information that is unnecessary for a marketplace listing.

3.4 Verification information

Where iSellTZ provides account, landlord, retailer, dealer, agent, or business verification, we may request:

Identity information;
Business registration or licence information;
Proof of authority to advertise a listing;
Proof of ownership or control;
Contact verification information;
Photographs or copies of supporting documents; and
Results of verification reviews.

Verification information may contain sensitive personal data. Where required, we will obtain appropriate consent and apply additional safeguards.

3.5 Communications

We may collect information contained in:

Messages or enquiries sent through the Platform;
Reports about listings or users;
Support requests;
Complaints and appeals;
Feedback and survey responses;

Where users communicate outside iSellTZ using telephone numbers, email addresses, messaging applications, or external platforms, those communications are controlled by the relevant users and external service providers.

When you access iSellTZ, we may automatically collect:

Internet Protocol address;
Browser and device type;
Operating system;
Device identifiers;
Login dates and times;
Pages viewed and features used;
Referring and exit pages;
Error records;
Security and fraud-detection logs;
Cookie and session information; and
Approximate location inferred from an IP address.

This information helps us maintain security, diagnose technical problems, prevent misuse, and improve the Platform.

3.7 Location information

A user may voluntarily provide the location of a property, vehicle, business, or other listing.

Where a map or device-location feature is used, the user may be asked for permission before precise device location is accessed. You may deny or withdraw device-location permission through your browser or device settings, although some location features may then be unavailable.

4. How We Collect Personal Data

We may collect personal data:

Directly from you;
From your Google account after you authorise Google Sign-In;
Automatically through your use of the Platform;
From other users who communicate with or report you;
From publicly available sources;
From verification or security service providers; and
From third parties where collection is lawful and relevant to our services.

5. Purposes for Processing Personal Data

We may use personal data to:

Create and manage user accounts;
Authenticate users, including through Google Sign-In;
Publish and manage marketplace listings;
Enable users to contact one another;
Display relevant contact, profile, listing, and verification information;
Review applications for verification;
Detect fraud, impersonation, unauthorised access, and prohibited activity;
Investigate complaints and enforce our Terms of Service;
Prevent duplicate, misleading, illegal, or abusive listings;

Understand general use of the Platform;
Protect users, iSellTZ, and the public;
Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;

We will not use Google user data for unrelated advertising, sell it to data brokers, or use it for purposes that were not disclosed when access was granted.

6. Legal Grounds for Processing

Depending on the circumstances, we process personal data because:

Processing is necessary to provide the Platform or perform our agreement with you;

Processing is necessary for a legitimate and specified operational or security purpose;
Processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation;

Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal will not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.

Listings are intended to be publicly discoverable.

The following information may be visible to other users or the public, depending on your account and listing settings:

Profile or business name;
Profile image;
Account type;
Verification badge;
Public contact details;
Listing descriptions;
Listing images;
Prices;
Locations;
Listing history or status; and
Other information intentionally included in a listing.

Do not upload national identification documents, financial information, passwords, private correspondence, or other sensitive material into a public listing.

Removing a listing from iSellTZ may not remove copies already made by other users, search engines, archives, or external websites.

8. How We Share Personal Data

We may disclose personal data to the following categories of recipients.

8.1 Other users and the public

Information included in public profiles and listings may be available to visitors and registered users.

Where you contact another user, information necessary to facilitate that communication may be shared with the recipient.

8.2 Service providers

We may use carefully selected service providers for:

Website and application hosting;
Database infrastructure;
Image and media hosting;
Google authentication;
Email and notification delivery;
Maps and location features;
Analytics, where enabled;
Error monitoring;
Cybersecurity;
Backups; and
Technical support.

These providers may process personal data only to provide contracted services and subject to applicable legal and contractual safeguards.

8.3 Legal and regulatory authorities

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

Where authorisation or permission from the Personal Data Protection Commission is legally required, we will seek the required authorisation.

Your request should identify the account you want deleted. We may ask you to complete reasonable identity-verification steps.

Following a valid request, we will delete or anonymise information that is no longer required, subject to information that must be retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or the establishment or defence of legal claims.

Deleting your iSellTZ account does not automatically delete information held independently by Google or another third party. You must manage such information through the relevant third-party service.

15. Marketing Communications

Where permitted, iSellTZ may send information about relevant features, marketplace opportunities, promotions, or service developments.

You may opt out of direct marketing by:

Using the unsubscribe option provided;
Changing available notification preferences; or

You may continue receiving essential account, security, legal, and operational communications after opting out of marketing.

16. Children’s Privacy

iSellTZ is intended for persons who are at least 18 years old.

We do not knowingly permit children under 18 to create marketplace accounts or publish listings independently. If we discover that a child has provided personal data without valid authorisation, we may suspend the account and delete the information, subject to applicable law.

17. Automated Processing

iSellTZ may use automated systems to organise listings, identify suspicious activity, recommend content, detect spam, or support moderation.

We do not intend to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on users solely through automated processing without appropriate review, notice, or safeguards.

The Platform may contain links to external websites, maps, payment services, messaging applications, social networks, or other third-party services.

iSellTZ does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties. Their collection and use of personal data are governed by their own policies. You should review those policies before submitting information.
